Two posts - Worcester WR5, and Kidderminster DY10. Job Purpose: To provide teaching to students (both one-to-one and in small groups), in either Maths, any of the sciences, or any combination of those subjects. Locations: Face-to-face tutor in our Worcester Location (WR5) and Face-to-face in our Kidderminster Location (DY10). Hours and work schedule: 40 Hours Per Week, lessons usually commence at 10am. Renumeration and benefits: Tutors are paid a standard rate of £17.61 per hour of tuition delivered for all levels. An additional £5 per hour will be paid to tutors for each additional student that attends a session, this reflects the additional work involved in planning for group students. All staff have access to our employee support programme, a free helpline for you and anyone living with you to call for advice on a range of issues from debt, to housing. Responsibilites
- Provide one-on-one and/or small group tutoring sessions to students in various subjects, focusing on their individual learning needs.
- Create engaging lesson plans and educational materials tailored to student's academic goals.
- Utilise effective communication skills to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Adapt teaching strategies for students with special education needs, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
- Track student progress and provide feedback on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with other educators and professionals to support student development and success.
- Maintain student lesson notes and use our VLE to provide teaching resources for each lesson
Requirements
- · Have a degree and be a Qualified teacher
- · Flexible and willing to pivot to meet students’ needs on a given day.
- · Knowledgeable about the curriculum for their given age range.
- · Accommodating of individual needs such as autism, ADHD, and anxiety.
- · Confident planning lessons and assessing their own students.
- · Imaginative and creative thinkers who can make lessons come to life.
- · Holds all students with respect and in positive regard.
- · Good interpersonal skills e.g. listening, teamwork, negotiation.
- · Excellent standard of written and spoken English.
- · Ability to respond flexibly to changing priorities.
- · Teaching/Tutoring experience in the UK school system.
- · Previous successful experience of working in a school, college or other child focussed environment.
- · Understanding of safeguarding issues.
- · Good knowledge of the relevant curriculums
- There may be the option of additional work as a Home Tutor, which would be discussed at interview. If you were interested in this then the ability and willingness to travel throughout Worcestershire is essential as is a driving license and access to a reliable car.
Rate of pay
£17.61 per annum
